William “Bill” Tischaefer died peacefully on June 15, 2024 at the age of 96.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce (nee Honeyager); Children - Roxanne Thomas, David Tischaefer (Sandy), Lynne Heinemeyer (Larry), and Steven Tischaefer; Grandchildren - Daren Thomas (Cheri), Carissa Thomas, Josh Tischaefer (Melissa), Jessica Tischaefer, and Justin Tischaefer; Great grandchildren - Gillian Thomas, Serenity Thomas, and Colton Tischaefer; and other nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his siblings - Henry, Richard, Lois, and Carol Clark; and grandson, Christopher Tischaefer.

Bill was born and raised in Pewaukee and had endless stories of growing up with his twin brother, Dick, around the lake. He served in the US army right after WWII as part of the Occupation forces, and then in the Army reserves for many years.

In his younger years he enjoyed showing off his skills water skiing, roller skating, and dancing. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and ice fishing throughout his life. He also volunteered for several years with Fishing Has No Boundaries in Hayward, WI.

He retired from Spancrete, in Waukesha, after many years of semi-driving. He was proud to be a Teamsters Union member.

Bill was always ready to lend a helping hand and was always ready with a story of all his life experiences.

He greatly enjoyed the time spent with his children and grandchildren. He never tired of enjoying a few beers (barley pop) and candy whenever possible. He and his wife, Joyce, took many road trips to the casinos in and around Wisconsin. He loved his back yard in Sussex and time spent there feeding his birds and taming a wild turkey he liked to call "Big Boy". He also spent hundreds of hours over many years putting puzzles together during his retirement.

Through all his pain and physical struggles, he never stopped making plans and having a zest for life.

A private family burial will be planned at a later date.

If desired, memorials to ProHealth AngelsGrace Hospice (https://www.prohealthcare.org/ways-to-give/) in Oconomowoc, WI, would be appreciated.
