William J Hoepner

William J. Hoepner of Greenfield, WI passed away on January 12, 2022 at the age of 73. William was friends to many people and known by many names, mainly Uncle Bill, (UB). He lived his life on his terms, and was a man’s man. William was sought after for advice, a calming presence or some extra muscle when he was younger. He loved his family, hunting, dogs, outdoor life, Packers football and socializing at the Post. William was a Sheet Metal Worker for Local 18 for 20+ years and later was elected 5 times as a business agent for the union. He also was a Greenfield Police and Fire Commissioner for 3 years. He is survived by his sons, Travis and Trae, daughter Tara, grandchildren Tristan, Ty, Hailey and Will, sisters Mary Russell and Carol Ehrmann, nieces, nephews and many friends. William was preceded in death by both parents, Pearl (Nee Blesener) and Wilmer Hoepner, brothers Leon Hoepner and Gerald Hoepner. There will be a small private family service in the spring, but a celebration of life at HA Todd American Legion Post on February 20, 2022 will be put on by the wonderful people that loved William at the Post.
