It is with heavy hearts and deep love that we announce the passing of Vivian Lane, who left us peacefully on June 2, 2025.
Vivian is survived by the love of her life, her beloved husband of 65 years, Gene Lane. Their marriage was a testament to enduring love and partnership, filled with shared memories, mutual support, and a lifetime of companionship. Together, they raised four children — Doug (Patricia), Brenda (John), Sharon (Dean), and Karen — each of whom carries her strength, compassion, and wit. Her legacy lives on in her grandchildren: Kristin (Dusty), Kevin, Kait (Dan), Arin (Erik), Marlo (Juliet), Monica (Nichole), Pierce, and Max, and her nine great-grandchildren, whom she adored more than words can say.
Animals gravitated to her, as did people. She had a warmth that made others feel instantly comfortable and a silly sense of humor that could light up a room. She had catch phrases that will outlive us all: “Been there done that, got a T-shirt” and often calling out “Yoo-hoo!”, whenever announcing her presence. Her storytelling was second to none. She could turn the simplest moment into an unforgettable tale, leaving everyone within earshot laughing.
She was endlessly creative — whether it was canning vegetables from her lovingly tended garden, arranging fresh flowers, writing a thoughtful note, or pulling together a glamorous outfit just to go to the grocery store. She believed in bringing beauty into every part of life, no matter how ordinary it may have seemed.
A generous neighbor and steady friend, she was someone her community could always count on. Whether offering help, sharing from her garden, or lending a listening ear, she made people feel cared for and welcomed.
Vivian’s life was a masterpiece of compassion, strength, and joy. She gave so much to so many, and while we’ll miss her deeply, her spirit lives on in every garden we tend, every story we share, and every time we choose kindness.
Thank you, Wife, Mom, Grandma, Neighbor, Friend, or just Viv — for the love, the laughter, the lessons, and the light. We love you forever
