Travis James
Melichar
November 27, 1970 – April 12, 2026
Travis Melichar, age 55, of Burlington, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2026, surrounded by loved ones, following a courageous and hard-fought battle with cancer.
Travis was born on November 27, 1970, in Germany to Russell and Sharon Melichar. As the eldest, he led the way for Jason and Cameron, growing up in the close-knit community of East Troy. Travis had many lifelong friendships. He was a man defined by his work ethic and his deep love for the Wisconsin outdoors. Throughout his career, he was a dedicated employee at both Snap-on and Nestlé, where he formed many lasting friendships.
An avid outdoorsman, Travis was truly at home in the woods. Whether he was tracking deer in the crisp autumn air or calling in turkeys in the spring, he found peace and joy in the rhythm of nature. He could sit in the woods for hours. His passion for hunting was more than a hobby; it was a way of life that he shared with those closest to him.
He was a proud and devoted father to his son, Brandon, and found a new, special joy in his role as Grandpa to his granddaughter, Brinley, or as he affectionately called her, Baby B.
Above all else, Travis was known for his generosity. He was the kind of person who would drop everything to help someone in need, never asking for anything in return. Friends, neighbors, and even strangers could count on him without hesitation. He believed deeply in taking care of others and lived that belief every day.
Travis would never want his passing to bring sadness or burden to those he loved. Instead, he would hope to be remembered with smiles, stories, and the shared memories that filled his life with meaning. His presence brought comfort, laughter, and strength to everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Travis is survived by his parents, Russell and Sharon; his son, Brandon (Hunter); his granddaughter, Brinley; his brother, Jason (Dawn), and sisters, Cameron (Tom) and Michelle; nieces: Maya, Gabby, and Kylie; and a community of extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.
No services will be held per Travis’s wishes.
Remember, as Travis always said when he was at his property; when you’re feeling down, go to town and you’ll feel better about yourself.
He will be remembered for his infectious smile!
