Thomas Charles Seitz, of Brookfield, Wisconsin, and known to his loved ones as Tom, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2023, at the age of 87 surrounded by his wife and their family. Born on September 19, 1936, in Racine, Wisconsin, Tom was a dedicated family man, a skilled computer professional, a proud Air Force veteran, and a loving Grandpa.

Tom served his country with honor and distinction, spending four years in the Air Force stationed in the United Kingdom, where he developed his fondness for real ale and good lager. His military memories were a significant part of his life, and he carried the values he learned during his service throughout his civilian endeavors.

After his time in the military, Tom embarked on a successful career as an IT professional, dedicating nearly 30 years in the manufacturing industry. His expertise and passion for technology allowed him to make a significant impact in his field and provided ample quantities of the punch cards that preceded modern computer discs to create his famous Christmas tree and many wreaths.

Outside of his professional life, Tom had a wide range of interests. He was an avid tennis player and served as a USTA official for many years during his retirement. Tom loved the thrill of the game and the camaraderie it brought him—always up early and on the court by 6am, five days a week. In his free time, he enjoyed reading fiction thrillers by Tom Clancy, Dan Brown, James Michener, or Ken Follett, completing handyman projects, and tending to his garden overflowing with tomatoes and cucumbers. His clever mind was filled with history and random factoids. Everyone wanted Tom on their trivia team so they didn't have to play against him. Tom had a beautiful singing voice and was an active member of the Barbershop Harmony Society, singing for many years with his brother Bob in the Racine Dairy Statesmen Chorus.

Tom's life was filled with love and cherished relationships. He is survived by his beloved wife, Elaine (Soergel) Seitz, and their children: Christopher and Amy (Noble) Seitz of Castle Rock, MN, and Jonathan Seitz of Brookfield, WI. Tom also leaves behind his siblings: Robert and Jackie (Tarr) Seitz, Mary Smith, and Ann (Seitz) and Shelby King. The loss of Tom is deeply felt by his grandchildren: Adam Seitz, Riley Seitz and Will Felten, Frannie Seitz and Alec Arthur, and Zoe Seitz and Mose McLain, and several furry grandpups.

Tom was preceded in death by his mother, Frances Seitz; his father, Alexander Seitz; and his siblings, Jeanne (Seitz) and Robert King, and David and Helen Seitz.

In addition to his military service and successful career, Tom found solace and community at St. Dominic's of Brookfield, where he worshipped.

Tom's life was a testament to his integrity, commitment and dedication to his loved ones, his country, and his passions. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

In lieu of flowers or condolences donations may be made to the Fisher House Wisconsin. (https://www.fisherhousewi.org/ways-to-give/).

A celebration of life in Tom's honor will be announced by his sons at some point in the future.
