Thomas Trent Cummings of Wind Lake passed away peacefully on August 28, 2025, at the age of 89.
Tom was a talented and highly accomplished technical illustrator, first for several firms in Milwaukee, then for his own company, T.T. Cummings and Associates. He mentored many young artists and was a well-liked and highly respected boss. Tom enjoyed sports, and was especially proud of his high school track success. He was also a dedicated animal lover, fostering baby skunks, ducks, birds, hamsters, stray dogs, numerous cats, and his beloved German Shepherds.
Tom is survived by his devoted wife and partner of 50 years, Lisa Carlson Cummings. He is further survived by his children: Brian (Veronica), Kim Kramer (Rick), Bret (Mary), and Tommy (Nicole). Also survived by his grandchildren: Chris (Kim) Cummings, Katy Cummings (Jesse Secord), Mark Kramer, Derek Kramer, Bryce (Vicky) Cummings, Trent (Tricia) Cummings, Chase Cummings, Jordan Cummings, Emma (Rose Eaton), Molly Cummings, Clarity Cummings, Nick Rahmel, and Izzy Rahmel. He is also survived by two nephews, eight great-grandchildren, and his lifelong friend, Jim Thiel, in addition to his good friends and in-laws, Julie Carlson and Mike Fedran. He was preceded in death by his parents, Trent and Geneva; his sister, Sharon Cummings; and his first wife and the mother of his children, Judith McLellan.
There will be no memorial service of any kind, just a private family gathering in the future. Memorials can be made to Humane Animal Welfare Society of Waukesha County, the American Diabetes Association, or the Dementia Society of America.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Elizabeth Residence in New Berlin where Tom spent his final days.
