Thomas Andrew Fotusky, 62, of Oconomowoc, WI, was reunited peacefully with his parents on September 12, 2022, after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Born on the island of Guam on March 16th, 1960, to CIA agent parents, Martin and Mary Barbara (née Kelly) Fotusky, and raised in Toms River, NJ, where his parents decided to settle down and raise the family of 6. Coming from a very artistic family, Tom loved all things music and landed a job mixing live sound for great musicians, such as Bruce Springsteen, in his late 20s. In 1997, he met Deborah and started a family in Seaside Heights, NJ. By 1999, Tom welcomed his beautiful daughter, Taylor, into the world, and two years later he finally married the love of his life. They lived comfortably along the Jersey shore for a few years, until in 2003, Tom, Debbi, and Taylor packed up their home in Seaside Heights, NJ, and headed to Wisconsin to reconnect with his 4 step-children; Nicholas, Ashlie, Andrew, and Brandon, from Deborah’s previous marriage. He took them in immediately under his wing because he loved being a father more than anything in the world. He was known to only buy $5 Walmart shoes so he could spoil the children instead. He was the family protector, the one who always made sure ends were met. Even though he was rough around the edges, he was truly the most selfless person you could possibly meet. He had a way with people and loved to talk. It was a known fact in our family that shopping with Tom was the chore you wanted to avoid because he had a knack for starting a conversation with every person he passed. A “run in, run out” shopping trip never existed in this home. There will never be enough words to describe the impact he has made on the many lives that were blessed to have crossed his path and he will be missed dearly.
He is predeceased by both parents, Martin and Mary Barbara Fotusky (Toms River, NJ). He is survived by his loving family, wife of 20 years, Deborah (Oconomowoc); sister, Margaret Rose (PA); brothers, Martin Gerard (NJ) and Francis Xavier (Lynn) of (ME); children, Taylor Anais (Oconomowoc), Nicholas Jay (Hartford), Ashlie Marie (Robert) of (Amery), Andrew James (Shaylee) of (New Richmond), and Brandon Lee (Oconomowoc). Tom is also survived by his nieces and nephews. His legacy will continue through them and grandchildren, Brandon, Ryan, Sophia, James and Lilith. In lieu of flowers, please consider sharing a memory you have with Tom and make a donation to the American Cancer Association.
