Shelley Bishop

Summit

Shelley Ann Bishop of Summit, WI, passed away unexpectedly on June 13, 2024, at the age of 51.

Shelley was a natural entrepreneur, she resigned from high school early to pursue her dreams. She founded Soundwaves in downtown Waukesha in 1991 and later opened Discfunktion in 2008. She chose to retire early, closing Discfunktion in May 2022. While her daughter, Xiola, was in school, Shelley also worked as a librarian at Hillcrest Elementary School in Waukesha.

Shelley enjoyed outdoor activities; including playing tennis, swimming, and caring for her horses. She loved all types of music. You could count on her to introduce you to a song or band that you had never heard of. Shelley also loved art and was very imaginative. She created beautiful paintings that decorated her home.

Shelley had a light in her. She could walk into a room and make friends with everyone in it. She had charisma, a wicked sense of humor, and a contagious smile. She genuinely cared about the people around her. She was a good listener and would check on you to lend support if she knew you were struggling. She was a thoughtful and meaningful gift-giver. She was loving and gave the best hugs. She seemed tough on the outside, but was a soft, empathetic person on the inside. Shelley will truly be missed. She has left a hole in the hearts of all who loved her.

She leaves behind loving family and friends: her daughter, Xiola (David) Schneiderman; her mother, Carol Bishop; siblings, Michael (Jeannie) Sherry and Chad Bishop; niece, Gracelynn Bishop; nephew, Garrett Bishop; uncle, Bobby (Sharon) Bishop; aunt, Barbara Wiesner; cousins, Netty (Paul) Tess and Susie Bishop; family friend, Janice Schaefer; friends: Jeri Campbell, Cindy Gabay, Lori Gabay, Selina Gross, Rob and Bridget Helfenstein, Gemma Langenwalter, Kelley McClendon, Fadara Ounkham, Nikki Page, Nichole Pfeifer, Shelley Rohrer, Tracy Thompson, Steve Tishchaefer, Cheryl Williams, Jodi Zillmer, and many more. She is also survived by her cherished pets; her cat "Sweet Georgia Peach" and turtle "Frank the Tank."

Shelley was preceded in death by her father, William "Buddy" Bishop; and her horses, Boomer and Chanel.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2024, from 1:00 pm - 6:00 pm at The Neighbors Bar and Grill located at: S16W22255 Arcadian Ave, Waukesha, WI 53186.
