Celebration of Life
Polish Center of Wisconsin
3:00 - 7:00 pm (Central time)
Sharon A. Zalewski, 75, passed away on February 21, 2026, after a short illness, surrounded by the love of her family.
Sharon was the beloved wife of Richard Zalewski. Together they built a life rooted in loyalty, laughter, and deep commitment to family. She was a loving mother to Jenny Carlson (Zalewski) and Ryan Zalewski, and a cherished mother-in-law to Christine Zalewski. Her greatest joy was being “Grandma” to Victoria Zalewski and welcoming Victoria’s boyfriend, Taylor Bartsch, into the family. Sharon’s love was unconditional and unwavering — she would do anything for those she loved.
Sharon graduated from Marquette University and went on to dedicate more than 40 years of her life serving as a nurse at the VA Hospital. She cared for veterans with compassion, skill, and dignity. Nursing was not simply her profession; it was a reflection of her generous heart. She showed up for others in their most vulnerable moments, just as she did for her family every day.
Sharon was beautiful inside and out — warm, fun-loving, affectionate, and deeply kind. She had a natural way of making people feel safe and cared for. She was a devoted animal lover and found special joy in their companionship.
In her later years, Sharon especially cherished time spent in Western Wisconsin, at the family farm. She loved being there with Richard and the rest of the family, surrounded by the beauty of the land and the peaceful rhythm of country life. Those moments brought her happiness and reflected the deep importance of family in her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clara and Peter Depka, and her brother, James Depka.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Zalewski; her children, Jenny Carlson (Zalewski) and Ryan Zalewski; daughter-in-law, Christine Zalewski; granddaughter, Victoria Zalewski (Taylor Bartsch); her brother, Dick Depka; nieces, Debi and Rose; nephews, Joe and Jay; great-niece, Nikee; along with many extended family members and dear friends.
A celebration of Sharon’s life will be held on March 7, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Polish Center of Wisconsin.
Family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and honor a woman whose love and kindness will continue to live on in all who knew her.
