Ronald Butzlaff

July 13, 1938 — February 10, 2026

Waukesha

Ronald Butzlaff, affectionately known as "The Rat," departed this world on February 10, 2026, at the age of 87, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the pleasure to know him. He took his final breath in the comfort of his daughter Shari Nicholson's home in Waukesha, where he was surrounded by the warmth and love of family during his time in hospice care.

Born on July 13, 1938, Ronald dedicated much of his life to American Motors, where he worked and eventually retired from Chrysler. His career was marked by a strong work ethic, but it was his personality that truly defined him. Ronald had a passion for humor that brightened the lives of those around him. Known for his ability to joke around and bring a smile to anyone's face, he will be remembered for his infectious laughter and light-hearted spirit.

Ronald's family circle includes his devoted son, Ronald J. Butzlaff, step daughter Dawn Kading and his loving daughter, Shari, who was integral in caring for him in his later years. He also leaves behind his cherished son-in-law, Bob Nicholson, and his beloved grandson, Casey Jones, along with great grandchildren Xander, Natalia, and Niko Jones, who brought him immense joy and pride.

In Ronald's lineage, there were also beloved family members who have passed; his wife, Charmaine Butzlaff, was a source of love that shaped his life, as were his son Mark Butzlaff, stepson Kevin Kading, and granddaughter Rickie Jones. Their memories will be fondly cherished, and their spirits will accompany him as he journeys onward.

As we remember Ronald, we are reminded of the laughter he shared, the stories he told, and the way he made life a little brighter for everyone. His legacy lives on in the hearts of his family, who continue to honor the love and joy he brought into their lives. Though he may no longer walk among us, the memories of "The Rat" will forever be cherished and celebrated.
