Peter Osborn Welty

Peter Osborn Welty passed away peacefully on March 20, 2023, in Sussex, Wisconsin. He was 79.

Peter had no children, but leaves behind his brother, Bill Welty; sister-in-law, Bea Welty; nephews: Chris Welty, Jeff Welty, and Matt McCannon; niece, Susanne Wass; as well as stepsons, Doug Waraxa and Laird Robinson, and stepdaughter, Sue Rodman.

Peter was predeceased by the love of his life, his wife, Carmella Welty; his sister, Karen McCannon; and his stepdaughter, Marie Christiansen.

Peter spent most of his professional life as a salesman for Weldall, a Wisconsin-based metal fabrication company. His outgoing personality made him an outstanding salesman. 

He loved dogs, including Irish Setters and Samoyeds. He enjoyed the outdoors, including skiing, fishing, and birdwatching. He was an accomplished sailor and a life member of Milwaukee’s South Shore Yacht Club.

More than anything, Peter loved people. He never met a stranger, was quick to laugh, and knew no higher pleasure than eating and drinking in good company. He will be missed.
