Paul was welcomed into the hands of the Lord on Monday December 26, 2022, at the age of 77. He is also survived by loving sisters, Barbara (Daniel) Nowak and Corinne (Charles) Tuyls; and a dear brother-in-law, James Schwartz. Nieces and nephews include, Rebecca (Craig) Miller, Ryan (Jenny) Nowak, Nathan (Toni) Tuyls, Dana Tuyls, Debbie (John) Furman, Mark (Julie) Schwartz, Gay Lyn (Paul) Wilson, and Craig (Amber) Schwartz. Paul is further survived by many great nieces and nephews, relatives, and friends.

Paul entered this world on November 2, 1945.  He was born to the parents of Edmund and Margaret Wojcik, residing on the south side of Milwaukee, which was rich with the traditions of his Polish heritage. He attended grade school at St. Mary Magdalene, where he served as an altar boy. He also played trumpet in the Drum and Bugle Corp. As a Boy Scout, he earned the highest level of Eagle Scout. He graduated from Marquette High School, earned a Bachelor’s degree in education from UW Whitewater and Master’s degree from Marion College. Paul taught 30+ years in the West Allis-West Milwaukee school district, where he instilled his love of learning into his students.

Paul and Bonnie, both educators, met while teaching. They were engaged and married within a year, a love that flourished for 49 years. They raised their family in the village of Vernon. Upon retirement, they built a home on Hunter’s Lake in Dousman, where they enjoyed many treasured years together.

Paul was a man of many interests. His love of life, of new adventures, and of simple pleasures, was a prime example of him embracing this life with pure joy. Sheepshead, Bridge, reading, crossword puzzles, bad sci-fi movies, traveling, fishing, pontooning, jet-skiing, and hunting were only some of his many interests. He had a special love of, as Amy would say, “the Lake Life”. Paul was a steward of Hunter’s Lake, diligently monitoring the waters for clarity. He held the little cabin in Crivitz near and dear to his heart. It is rich with memories.

The biggest joy of his life, though, was his family. Paul and Bonnie had two children together, Amy Kaye and Matthew Christopher. He was so proud of them, of what they’ve achieved, and what good, kind people they are. Paul loved Connor, Carson, Josephine, and Adeline, his beloved grandchildren. He was deeply involved in their lives, caring for them, loving them, supporting them.

It was a life well lived, a loss that is unbearable, and a love that will always be.
