Patrick William Malone

August 13, 1961 — April 19, 2022

Patrick William Malone August 13, 1961 - April 19, 2022 Patrick once described himself as a “Christian, husband, father, grandfather, and brother, I wear several different hats. I am rector of an ACNA parish and I work full-time for Seasons Hospice ”. His desire, in his words, was “to see those around me become faithful disciples of Christ through the means of Word and Sacrament.” He loved Jesus. He was born to John Robert Malone and Linda Joyce Malone (née Cooper) in Bedford, Ohio. He graduated from Bedford High School where he wrestled and played football. Patrick received a Bachelor of Arts in Classical and Medieval Studies and a Master of Arts in Biblical Studies from Ashland Seminary. He received additional education and training through the John Jay Institute and Ascension Health Clinical Pastoral Education program. All of this aided his ministry. Patrick served for over 30 years in ministry. He pastored congregations in northern Ohio, Kansas, New Jersey, and Wisconsin. His final call was as Rector of Holy Cross Anglican Church, a church plant in the (ACNA) The Anglican Church of North America in Waukesha, Wisconsin. Ever the teacher; he had a thirst for studying and growing in his knowledge of his Lord and how he could minister to anyone he met. Father Pat shared his knowledge through published writings in The Anglican Quarterly and academic encyclopedias on religious sacraments and fundamentalism. He is survived by his wife Robin, three children Meghan, John (Averi), and Benjamin and granddaughter Naomi, as well as his brothers Darin (Anne, their son Jimmy) and David (Kelly, their daughter Katie) along with his step-mother Vicki, along with many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. Patrick had a significant role in the building of the Chaplain ministry of the ACNA, Serving on the Anglican Chaplains staff for nearly 7 years (2011-2019), he also represented the Anglican Chaplains in a successful lawsuit filed on their behalf by the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty. His children remember their father as a diligent and sacrificial dad, working second and third jobs driving school buses and commercial trucks to provide for his family. He also worked providing computer support with Apple and other jobs to provide. After weakness and breathing issues over the last year and half, he was diagnosed with ALS in February of 2022. Surrounded by his wife and loved ones, Patrick went home to be with his Savior. “For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified” 1 Corinthians 2:2
