Oliver L. "Leo" Denesha

Oliver "Leo" L. Denesha Waukesha, Wi - Oliver L. Denesha 71, of Waukesha Wi, formally of Escanaba Mi., passed away peacefully Wednesday August 24, 2022, at Aurora Zilber Family Hospice. Leo was born January 18, 1951 in Detroit Mi., to Margaret and Oliver Denesha. The family later moved to Escanaba where he graduated in 1969. Leo had a long career as a welder on the Chicago Northwestern - Union Pacific Railroad where he acquired many long lasting friendships. Leo as a young adult enjoyed playing softball, and bowling which he continued for many years. He enjoyed going to Nascar events with his friends. His other interests were watching the Lions, Tigers, Red Wings and he loved to cook. His grandchildren gave him lots of enjoyment in watching their sports. Leo was a devoted Father and Grandpa. His children and grandchildren were everything to him. Leo has touched many lives. He will be greatly missed. Oliver is survived by his son, Cory; daughter, Heidi (Justin) Gagnon; grandchildren, Ethan, Anna, Kaitlynn; brothers, Mike (Jean) Denesha, Terry (Margaret) Denesha; sister, Mary Kivioja; niece Stephanie (Robert) Kruse; nephew Dawson; along with other nieces and nephews, mother of his children, Sue Mabie and all of his life long friends. In addition to his parents, Leo was preceded in death by his sister- in law, Georgene; nephew, George; along with aunts and uncles. The celebration of Leo's life will be held at a later date at the convenience of his family. The Denesha family would like to personally thank Aurora West Allis Medical Center, and immensely grateful to all involved in helping Leo in his final hours of life from Aurora Zilber Family Hospice. Leo will be placed at the mausoleum at Gardens of Rest in Wells Michigan .
