Nancy R Woodruff

Nancy R Woodruff of Mosinee, WI, passed away on Monday, February 5th, 2024, at the age of 85.

Nancy was born in Hinsdale, IL, and adopted by John and Betty Robinson. As a child she lived in Illinois, Missouri, and Indiana, graduating from Lima High School as one of a class of 10 students. She attended Albion College for two years then transferred to Western Michigan where she graduated in 1960. While attending Western she met Nelson Woodruff, and they were married in December 1960. She taught in the Climax-Scott school system for two years before she and Nelson moved to Mosinee, WI. Nancy was a teacher at Mosinee middle school briefly before welcoming their two sons, Brian and Bob. When the boys grew up Nancy returned to teaching and assisted with pre-school at Mosinee Elementary. She was proud of her election to the school board and served on several committees and as board president. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, teaching Sunday School and actively involved with many committees. After retiring, Nancy and Nelson became NOMAD volunteers for 19 years doing construction, remodeling, and restoration projects for Homes, camps, and outreach missions for disaster relief in several states. Late in life, Nancy was blessed to have been reunited with her birth mother and met her half-brother and two half-sisters.

Nancy enjoyed visiting with her many friends in both Mosinee and Northern Michigan, where they spent summers at their cottage.

Nancy is survived by Nelson, her loving husband of 63 years; son, Brian (Paulette) and his Children: Meghan, Sean, and McKenna; son, Bob (Barb) and his Children: Ali and Bennett; Sister-in-law, Sue; half-siblings and several nieces and nephews.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Jim (Sue) Robinson; sister, Mary Robinson; and brother-in-law, Charles Woodruff.

Funeral services will be held in Mosinee and Northern Michigan at a later date.
