Michael K. Coughlin, 68, a long-time resident of Waukesha, died suddenly on October 13, 2023, after enduring several health problems in recent years. Mike held a variety of positions in sales, marketing and promotion over his career, working in health supplements, auto parts and trade-paper advertising. Post-career, Mike was a dedicated volunteer at La Casa de Esperanza, and derived much satisfaction from working with clients. A parishioner of St. John Neumann Church, he was widely regarded as a really nice guy, a proud, regular blood donor and someone who loved to join – or start - a good gab fest. He thoroughly enjoyed convening with his fellow Marquette alums and their families.
Born on December 16, 1954, in White Plains, New York, Mike was the son of Harry T. Coughlin and Rita A. (Siple) Coughlin. He grew up in Dobbs Ferry, NY, and was a graduate of local Catholic grammar and high schools. Mike earned his Bachelor’s degree from Marquette University.
Mike was predeceased by his parents. Surviving are his brothers, Thomas (Barbara) of Tarrytown, NY, and Christopher (Sheila) of Southport, NC. Also surviving are his nieces, Clare Coughlin Solano and Kerry Coughlin; his nephews, Patrick (Mairead) and Matthew (Annie) Coughlin; as well as three great-nieces and one great-nephew.
A memorial Mass for Mike will be celebrated at Transfiguration Church in Tarrytown; and he will be interred with his parents in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
