Mark F Grisa

Torn from our lives prematurely following a minor medical procedure, his absence has left holes in the hearts of his wife, Mary, daughter, Katherine, and those lucky enough to know him. Mark graduated from the University of Wisconsin system earning both a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree. He was employed with the City of Waukesha for over 20 years. Taking advantage of early retirement, Mark spent his time traveling to Europe, cruising rivers and oceans, and visiting Disney properties. Locally, he never tired of making yearly pilgrimages to the Circus World Museum and the Wisconsin Dells. Mark enjoyed daily group exercise at the “Y,” biking, reading, gardening, and a good long walk with his wife and dogs. He was a Master Gardener. Prior to quarantine, he volunteered at Waukesha Memorial Hospital, growing fresh vegetables for the Waukesha Food Pantry. All this activity made Mark hungry! Fortunately, he loved to cook and eat out. Most evenings you could find Mark sitting in his recliner streaming while he brushed his cat or online entering contests. He excelled at all things trivia, loved games, and appreciated oxford commas. Mark loved his life and the people in it. In addition to his wife and daughter, Mark is survived by his sister, Heidi (Fred), brother, Gregg, stepmother, Rose, and many other relatives in Wisconsin, California, and Michigan. Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Marion, his brother, Carl, his Uncle Fritz, brother-in-law, Mike and grandparents, August, and Marie. Mark’s wishes will be fulfilled by having a small, private celebration of his life.
