Hince
November 2, 1935 – May 21, 2026
Marie Sarah Hince (nee Lorsung) of East Troy, Wisconsin, found peace at her home on May 21, 2026, at the age of 90. Marie was born in Ogema, Minnesota, on November 2, 1935, to the late Anna C. (nee Pawlak) and Alfonse August Lorsung. She is also preceded in death by her brothers, Ambrose and James Lorsung; sister-in-law, Sharon Lorsung; and brother-in-law, Robert Lind.
On December 1, 1956, she married the love of her life, Ambrose (Jeff) Hince, and moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In 1983, Marie and Ambrose moved into their custom dream home they built together located at Air Troy Estates in East Troy, Wisconsin. Marie and Ambrose were married for 62 years before Ambrose passed away in September 2019.
Marie will be dearly missed by her children: Greg (Deanna), Mark (Karen), Annette (Kurt) Stueck, Collette (Steve) Reiherzer, and Paulette (Bill) Newbury; her grandchildren: Angela (Randy) Nasr, Jessica (Edwin) Brazda; Jason, Michael (Rachel), and Jacob Hince; Joseph, Maria, Joshua, Olivia, Sophia, and Gabriella Stueck; Seth and Kristi Reiherzer; Ambrose (Ashley), Ashton, and Avery Newbury; her bonus grandchildren: Kristin (Dan) Walsh, Andrea (Adam) McCartney, and Rachael (Mitch) Martin; her great grandchildren: Ramzi and Amira Nasr; Noah and Shiloh Brazda; Bryxteyn Hince; and Shiloh Hince; her bonus great grandchildren: Westen and Elese Walsh; William and Adalynn McCartney; Micah and Mallory Martin; Caideync, Camdeyn, and Carseyn Gillan; her sisters: Clare Ann Lind and Barbara (Kay) Lorsung; and sisters-in-law: Frances Marie Bohlke and Jean Havelka. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Marie was a devout Catholic. She worshipped Jesus and honored Mother Mary. She had been a long-time member of the Secular Franciscans. She was known for her genuine ability to make each person to whom she came into contact with feel as though they were the most important person in her world.
Her passions included her faith, family, and friends, as well as ceramics, politics, gardening, and shopping at second-hand stores (her "Goody Stores"). She enjoyed reading cookbooks like novels; newspapers, magazines, and home remedy books cover to cover. Marie was an exceptional cook and baker, who also enjoyed talk-radio and country music, sweepstaking, canning vegetables, and making (and eating!) sauerkraut with pork chops.
She was a kindred spirit and a source of sound advice, generously sharing her time and talents in ceramics, sewing by hand, and sharing the secrets to her most prized recipes. Her daughters will fondly remember her love of hot tea that she passed down to each of them.
Known for her sense of humor, she often joked that only upon her death would you find her voting for the opposing political party.
A Catholic Mass will be held in her honor at an undetermined date.
