Manfred E. Beger

Manfred was born August 22nd, 1939, in Munich, Germany, to Helena (Linke) and Emil Beger. His childhood years were shaped by WWII, but he carried his love of Germany with him throughout his entire life. There he studied law and accounting at universities in both Munich and Regensburg.

In 1969, while Jan was studying in Germany as a college student, the two met on the steps outside his mother's apartment. What began as a chance encounter grew into a 55-year marriage filled with family, friends, and laughter.

He arrived in New Hampshire in early 1970 for an internship before moving to Wisconsin later that year. There he began his longtime career as an accountant with Komisar Brady & Co. - then Komisar & Komisar. He took great pride in his work and had many happy memories of colleagues and clients who became friends. Manfred and Jan married in 1971 and settled into a life together.

He appreciated the simple pleasures in life. He loved working on jigsaw puzzles and tackling his German crosswords. He never lost his love for German food and beer and spent every evening with his favorite shows - Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune.

And then there were the dachshunds. He deeply loved his dogs, who were an important part of his life and family. Among them all, his beloved Charlie held a particularly special place in his heart.

He leaves behind his wife of 55 years, Jan; his children, Andy (Jeanette) Beger and Kate (Sam) Tricker; his four grandchildren, Violet and Ada Beger and Darby and Emmett Tricker; his brother, Karl, in Germany; and many dear friends and family members.

He will be remembered for the life he built between two countries, his charming German accent, his joy in visiting with friends and family, and the small, everyday moments that will be remembered by those who loved him.
