Lucille B. Tews, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2025, at the age of 90.
She was born on July 26th, 1934, in Milwaukee, WI to Frank and Veronica Wamser (nee Bauernfeind). After graduating from Rufus King High School, she married the love of her life, Jack E. Tews.
Lucille worked as a secretary for the L.M. Berry Company, the Graham Company and J.C. Penny Company in the Milwaukee area for many years, building lifelong friendships along the way. After retiring from full-time employment, she worked part time for years at Bartz’s in Menomonee Falls, as well as delivering meals on wheels.
Lucille thoroughly enjoyed music her entire life and she was blessed with the ability to play the piano/organ by ear to virtually any song she would hear. She also played accordion and would volunteer her musical skills and time at various venues to entertain others, as well as at gatherings of family and friends. Her love of music has continued through her family. She had a passion for card and game playing and was a die-hard sheepshead player, being in various groups with both relatives and friends throughout her life. She enjoyed working outside in her yard, was an avid reader and took huge pleasure in all animals, but especially her beloved dogs. In her later years Lucille developed quite an interest in watching golf on TV, something that would have made her late husband Jack smile.
She took the most pleasure out of life by spending quality time with her family and friends. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought her immeasurable pleasure. Lucille had a true love of life and wonderful sense of humor. Whenever we visited, we could count on her smile, a hug and some words of wisdom before we went on our way.
Lucille is survived by her daughters, Jacky (Tom) Feuerer and Sue (Ric) Lofye; sons; Wayne (Jill) Tews and Michael (Gail) Tews. She is further survived by her grandchildren: Nicole, Danielle (William), Kyle (Laura), Nathan (Laura), Pete, Alyssa (Andrew), Cutter (Kelly), Ryland, Patchen, and Redding. Also survived by her great-grandchildren; Austin, Noah, Rheannon, Atticus, Alex, Owen, Isla, Finley, Caleb, and Grey.
Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Veronica; her husband, Jack; her sister, Dorothy (Daniel) Zebrowski; and great-granddaughter, Abigail.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Jeremy Topp at Aurora in Menomonee Falls for his wonderful care of our mother over the years.
