Lorraine P. Machacek (nee Schroeder) passed away on December 19, 2025, at the age of 97. She was born in Tigerton, WI, and died in New Berlin, WI.

She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Mark (Patricia) Connelly; parents, Frederick and Erna Schroeder; siblings: Frederick, Jr. (Margaret) Schroeder, Melba (Robert) Nisleit, Robert (Carol) Schroeder, and Donald (Emily) Schroeder; and husbands: Frank Connelly, Neal Van Den Heuvel, and Eugene Machacek.

Lorraine is survived by her cherished children, Nancy (William) Hanson and John (Robin) Connelly; dear grandchildren: Brett (Kirsten) Connelly, Kelly (John) De Caire, Kayla (Jonny) Harnisch, and Sara Connelly; great grandchildren: Haakon Connelly, Caitlin Connelly, Seamus De Caire, Clayton (Kimberly) De Caire, Draven De Caire, and Kali De Caire; great great grandchildren, Leilani De Caire and Liliana De Cair; dear godson and nephew, Dale (Lois) Schroeder; and many loved nieces, nephews, and life long family friends.

Thanks to to Joanne and Barbara for the visits to her. Many thanks to all who attended her 90th and 96th birthday celebrations. She loved seeing everyone together in one place.

"Mum" or "The Mother Lode", as her children affectionately called her, was always there to help at family events and made herself available to babysit, or dog sit, when needed.

She was a past member of the EAA and the Lions Club. She enjoyed flying model planes and collecting dolls and glassware, raising many beautiful birds, and frequenting gourmet bakeries and chocolate shops. She also liked donating to several of her favorite charities every year. She will be missed by all.
