Loretta Suzda

Loretta "Laurie" Suzda (nee Gregory), 72, of Hartland, Wisconsin passed away on February 22, 2024, following a stroke suffered two weeks prior.  Proud of her Italian heritage, she was born and raised in Illinois. Laurie eventually moved to Wisconsin where she made her home and raised her children. Laurie was known for her love of and skill in all things cooking.  She was an avid reader who also enjoyed crocheting blankets for her family and friends over the years.  Laurie collected bells and cookbooks, and all occasions were marked with her favorite yellow roses. She loved to dance.

She is survived by her children, daughter Christi Baumeister and son Anthony Suzda (Kate); grandchildren Nix Baumeister and Haven Suzda; father Silvano Petrucci; sisters Lisa Locke of Illinois, Hope Woods and Sandra Gregory, both of Tennessee; nieces Sarah Locke and Eveanna Gregory; nephews Dylan Locke and David Gregory; and stepsons Nick Bach and Tony Bach.

Laurie is preceded in death by her mother, Ivana Petrucci; brother Michael Gregory; sister Donna Cornwell of Tennessee; and fiancé Wayne Bach.

She will be laid to rest at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Cemetery in Palatine, Illinois (date and time TBD). In lieu of flowers, please take some time to have a meal with those you love.  Make a memory in honor of Laurie.
