She grew up in Linz, Austria and came to the United States in 1947. She became a naturalized citizen in 1954. She supported her young family as a customer service representative for the Wisconsin Gas Co. and was extremely helpful to the large concentration of German speaking immigrants in the Milwaukee area. She was an exceptional cook and was well known for her potato salad (Austrian version, not German..she was adamant on the difference), apple strudel, Christmas stollen and liver dumpling soup. Lore's independent nature presented challenges for those who loved and cared for her in her later years. Special thanks to long time neighbors John & Joan Miller and Dr. Gilberto Rodrigues (Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic) for their patience and concerned care. She will be missed by her family and friends. “ Mutti ist doch die Beste! Auf Wiedersehen”.
