Kathleen Joanne Terry

October 18, 1950 — March 9, 2022

Kathleen Joanne Terry of Germantown, WI passed away peacefully, from cancer, on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at the age of 71 after days surrounded by family. Kathleen was born October 18, 1950 in Evanston IL. She was the eldest daughter of John L Terry and Barbara L Terry’s 8 children and fondly referred to herself as #1. She grew up in Des Plaines and went to St. Mary’s and Maine West High School. Her siblings describe her as, “a rebel who kept our mom on her toes and always did things her own way.” Kathleen moved to Santa Monica, CA, and lived a wonderfully wild life in a house on the beach and eventually had her son Eric. An earthquake prompted them to move back to IL where she had her daughter Kathrine. They worked their way north to WI and recruited other family members to join, mostly to ensure she wasn’t the only Packers fan to combat the rival Bears family banter. Kathleen celebrated her Irish heritage and loved a party, cooking for many and playing music, often loud enough for the neighbors to join. She loved animals and always had a pet dog, cat, horse or the yard birds and squirrels. She was adored by the young kids of the family and she showered them with her time, attention and love. She will live on through all of her family as they bake/cook the recipes shared, grow their gardens, gift silly annual family photos and send cards with LOTS of tape. Kathleen is survived by her partner Steve Hart, her son Eric Giacchino, daughter Kathrine Giacchino, daughter-in-law Lisa Giacchino and grandchildren Isabel, Sophia and Revel. She is also survived by 6 loving siblings (Janet, Kevin, Mark, Lynne, Paul and Eileen), 4 “like siblings in laws” and 22 nieces/nephews and great nieces/nephews. She is preceded in heaven by her father, mother, brother, aunts and uncles and cousin. Commemorative Plantings: Kathleen loved digging in the dirt and had a talent for making things grow. In lieu of flowers or a wake, we invite you to purchase a plant or tree for your home or yard. Plant it, get dirt under your nails, watch it grow and think of her.
