Karen Wellsfry (Kuczynski), age 75, passed away on June 11, 2026. Born on December 10, 1950, Karen lived a life defined by love, generosity, faith in family, and an unwavering willingness to help others.
Karen worked as an accountant throughout her career, though she often shared that she wished she had completed her nursing degree. Caring for others came naturally to her. Whether helping someone recover from illness, doing laundry, ironing clothes, opening her home to those in need, or simply lending a hand, Karen was always there for anyone who needed her. She loved to become a second mom to her kid’s friends, but her favorite person she became a second mom to was Shawna.
An avid reader, Karen loved books and may have accumulated a library late fee or two over the years. She enjoyed learning, laughing, and finding joy in life's simple pleasures.
Family was the center of Karen's world. She never missed ANY of her children's sporting events and proudly supported them through every stage of life. As a grandmother, she attended everything she could for Michael—from soccer, football to baseball and bowling tournaments across Wisconsin. Her grandchildren were the brightest lights of her life, and she treasured every moment she spent with them.
Karen especially loved carrying on family traditions. Having been beautifully dressed by her grandparents as a child, she delighted in doing the same for her first grandchild, Taylor. Matching dresses, shoes, hats, and coats were her specialty, and if Taylor would have allowed it, Karen would still be dressing her today.
Karen enjoyed riding Harleys, cheering on the Milwaukee Brewers and Green Bay Packers, and spending time with family and friends. Those who knew her knew never to call when the game was on.
While her favorite color was pink, she never forgot to remind you to vote in the color that ran through her blood. She spent a lot of her free time finding the funniest meme’s to support her love of the Republican party and never missed any voting day.
Karen is survived by her husband, Brian; her loving children, Joel and Jeanine Pariseau, and Kelly Pariseau (Ryan); her stepsons, Alex (Lacey) and Adam; the light of her eyes grandchildren Taylor (Joe), Michael, Eve, Chael, and Raylee; her sisters, Coleen (John) and Robin (Paul); along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and countless friends whose lives she touched.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Carol Reimer; her father, Myron Kuczynski; her grandparents, Norbert and Sophie Stauber; and Walter and Stella Kuczynski.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the Oconomowoc Cancer Center and Angel’s Grace Hospice, and the many caregivers who provided comfort, compassion, and support throughout Karen's journey. Julie and Mary, you two, helped more than you know in her fight, even on her worst days you two always were able to put a smile on her face.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Angel’s Grace Hospice. Another meaningful way to honor Karen's memory is to hang a bird feeder in your yard so she can always stop by for a visit.
A Celebration of Life will be held on August 8th 2026 at the MD Saloon in Wales at 2:00 PM. Karen's kindness, generosity, humor, and unconditional love will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
