John Stewart Shanks

John Stewart Shanks was born to eternal life on June 27, 2018 . John was born in Bermuda and moved to Oconomowoc, Wisconsin with his family shortly after. He grew up in Oconomowoc with his two brothers and lived in Madison and Waukesha later in life. John was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas K. Shanks and Sally A. (Sheblak) Shanks of Oconomowoc. He is survived by two brothers, Steven Shanks and Richard (Patrice) Shanks. Also surviving are many cousins, nieces and nephews including Jeff, Christina and Spencer Shanks. John was known for his sense of humor and light- hearted personality. He graduated from Oconomowoc High School. He was employed at a Madison, Wisconsin hospital and worked in the medical field as a patient caregiver and aide. He also volunteered at many local charities and loved to help others. John loved to read and share his vast knowledge. On-line condolences can be left at www.cremationsocietyofwaukesha.com.
