John Walejewski crossed the threshold of heaven and earth to touch the face of God at the age of 85 on December 1, 2021. John grew up on the south side of Milwaukee where he graduated from Pulaski High School. After high school, John served in the Navy and was stationed at Great Lakes Naval Base. John worked as a plant manager at INRYCO, a division of Inland Steel, for much of his adult life and retired at the age of 50.
John met Nancy when they were both students at Pulaski High School. They dated for several years and married in1957. They then moved to Mukwonago, where they raised their family. They enjoyed going to their cabin in the Northwoods of Wisconsin where John spent his time hunting, fishing and boating. In his younger years, he enjoyed snowmobiling both around Mukwonago and at his cabin. John and Nancy enjoyed traveling during their early retirement years including trips out west, to Hawaii, and to many war memorials throughout the country. When he wasn’t traveling the U.S., John spent his time watching his Wisconsin sports teams. He was a life long fan of the Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badger football teams as well as a fan of the Milwaukee Brewers and Milwaukee Bucks.
John was a devoted husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather and great-grandfather. He loved being a grandpa and was cherished by his grandchildren and great-grandchild. He loved to bring his kids and grandkids on his many adventures around the country.
John is survived by his wife Nancy, daughter Cindi (Jim), son John (Marta), five grandchildren, his great-grandson, and one sister. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
A special thanks goes out to the staff of Angels Grace Hospice and Waukesha Memorial Hospital for the kind and loving care given to John. A special thank you to Pastor John for spiritual support.
