John Roman Jaske

December 19, 1929 — October 24, 2023

Hartland

John passed from this life into Eternal Life peacefully from home in Hartland, WI on Tuesday October 24, 2023 at 93 years young.
He was born December 19, 1929 to John and Mary Jasniewski in West Allis, WI.

He will remain loving Dad to Kristine, Jackie, Julie, Scott, Steve, Sandi, Sheri, Sue, and step-dad to Liz, Linda, and Wendy.

Our Dad loved the lake, woodworking, westerns, Ford trucks, and sweets! Many may remember him washing and waxing his vehicles EVERY weekend and having great conversations in the garage, being caught driving behind him at 45 mph no matter the posted speed limit, or boating/skiing, he would say, “if you don’t fall you weren’t trying hard enough” and listening to his many stories from his youth that usually involved one of his many cars.

The greatest of his accomplishments was teaching us by example to overcome. He was born, having polio in the womb. His right arm was underdeveloped and he was in a body cast for quite some time, he said he didn’t start school until age 10.
None of this stopped him from showing the world what he was made of, he is “Ford Tough”.
In his day he was considered “a cripple” but he didn’t accept the label. He remodeled, poured concrete, built amazing works of art from wood, waterskied, and drove manual trucks working for Tews Lime and Cement for 33 years. He was a true, shining example of overcoming and teaching us quitting was not an option and hard work was.

He gave us the best life growing up on Blue Spring Lake, our summers were like camping every day, including chopping and hauling wood.

Dad said blood is thicker than water but taught us love is thicker than blood.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Jasniewski; sisters, Helen Jasniewski and Phyllis Worth-Bourgeois; his wife, Gertrude (Foeckler) Jaske; and many dear friends.

Survived by his children:  Kristine (Leonard) Britch, Jacqueline (Jim) Jaske-Gile, Julie (Eric)Jaske Erickson, Sue (Steve) Pavlak-Kusch, Sheri Pavlak, Sandi (Chad) Pavlak-Peplinski, Steve Pavlak, and Scott (Brenda) Pavlak.
Grandchildren: Zack (Taylor)Heipel, Hannah Rogers, Kacie, Karlie and Nick Gile, Eden and Ava Erickson, Donald Britch, Savana (Barak) Pavlak-Embrey, Katrina (Matt) Pavlak-Koutalis, Kayla (Jeffrey) Pavlak-Radtke, Austin Pavlak, Nikko Pavlak, Heather Peplinski, Bryce (Jenny) Peplinski, Nick Pavlak, Kristine Zuber, and Jeff (Angie) Zuber.
Many great grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter.

Step Children: Ralph Butch (Karen) Foeckler, Jeffrey (Marlene) Foeckler, Cheryl (Scott) Foeckler-Baker, Elizabeth (Dave) Foecker-Soika, Linda (Ron) Foeckler-Hahn, Wendy (Chuck) Foeckler-Bellesbach, and many grandchildren.

Special thank you to Preceptor Home Health & Hospice, Nicole, Morgan, & Christine, and also to his many friends who visited, brought donuts and his favorite foods, enjoyed stories, watched westerns, helped care for him and showed him love.

Many of God’s blessings, all through our lives, are delivered in our circumstances, events, and most importantly in the people that He places in our life….so is the blessing of our Dad.
