Jerry J Matteson

Jerry J. Matteson, began eternal life on January 31, 2023, at his home in Hartland, Wisconsin, with his family by his side. Jerry was 84 years old.

Jerry was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Feb 4, 1938. He went into the Marine Corp at the age of 17 and finished between the ages of 20/21. Soon after, he met Rita and it was love at first sight. They married and built our home together some years later. Jerry was very unique and true to himself. He loved people, chatting, sales, health and nutrition, working out, swimming, and eating healthy, especially salads, and burgers. He also loved weight lifting and won many trophies throughout the years, all the way into his 70's. He was always strong and brave; he was our great protector and was always ready to stand up and fight and help whenever he could. Jerry was without a doubt a BAMF, he for sure did it his way. His strength and support will always be with us. Sons John and Todd enjoyed going fishing at our cottage on Lake Esadore. We all have fond memories of our time there. Daughter, Jill, who will never forget the times he would come and take her out of school to bring her out for lunch. Also, when she was really young she would ride on his head while he went golfing, him calling her his little blue hat! We love you "Big Dadio" and BAMF! 

Jerry joined his Wife, Rita; Parents, Dorothy and Allen Burns; and Sister, Judy Leuteniger in eternal life.

He is survived by his Children: Todd, Jill, and John; Sister-in-law, Pam; Grandchildren: Jeff, Abby, Rachel, Mitchel. Rebecca, and Marshal; and Great-Grandchildren: Keziah, Simone, Sammy, Max, and Sofi.

Celebration of life being held this Sat, March 11, at Legion Hall in Hartland located at 231 Goodwin Avenue from 1 PM - 5 PM.
