Jason James Knight

May 15, 1974 — February 20, 2022

Jason (Jay) James Knight, age 47, found peace on Sunday afternoon, February 20, 2022 at St Joseph’s Hospital. Jason was born on May 15, 1974 in Milwaukee, WI to James and Mary Josephine (Varisco) Knight. Jason primarily worked as a fabricator in the Hubertus and Milwaukee area. Jason enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He had a great appreciation for the outdoors and animals, especially his dogs Hank and Shiloh. He liked to bow hunt, fish, swim and camp. Jason was an avid Packers and Bucks fan. He loved music and embraced this by attending music festivals, concerts, strumming his bass guitar, and randomly belting out old country tunes and Pink Floyd. He was a wonderful cook and loved to grill, with pizza being his absolute favorite food to eat. Jason had the most contagious laugh and could find joy even during the darkest days. Jason is survived by his sisters, Jodi Knight and Kerry Knight, his son Jessup Kriewaldt, his daughter Adella Knight, his niece Camryn Love, his nephews Devon Gordon and Cayden Love, his best friend Kate Kohler, his aunts, uncles, cousins and many dear friends. He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Josephine Shimek, step-father Scott Shimek, his father, James Knight, his grandparents Jenette/Antonino Varisco, and Charmaine/William Knight. A celebration of Jason’s life will be held from 1pm until 3pm, with the service to follow at 3pm, on March 1st at the Max Sass and Sons Funeral Home at 1515 W. Oklahoma Ave Milwaukee, WI 53215. Jason’s family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at St. Joseph’s Hospital for their excellent care, patience and support.
