Obituary

Jason “Ducky” Hoffstrom, 33, of Ixonia, Wisconsin, passed away unexpectedly, leaving behind a family and community who loved him deeply.

Jason will be remembered for his quick wit, stubborn spirit, and the way he could make people laugh in any situation. He was competitive in all the best ways, bringing energy and humor wherever he went. Above all, Jason was caring and loving—a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend.

Jason earned the nickname “Ducky” during his early baseball days—a name that would stay with him for life. Originally, it was a nod to his grandfather, who was also called “Ducky” for ducking out of the way of pitches. The name took hold when Shaun Behrand, a friend of Jason’s cousin Frank, was making a lineup and, not knowing Jason’s last name, wrote down “Jason Ducky.” From then on, the name stuck—and it fit him perfectly.

He found joy in the simple and meaningful things in life. Whether he was on the golf course, cheering on the Green Bay Packers, playing softball or baseball, cooking for loved ones, or listening to his favorite podcasts and stand-up comedy, Jason embraced life fully. His greatest happiness, however, was his family. He loved deeply and showed up for the people he cared about. His family will forever hear his playful and enthusiastic phrase, “Who’s number one?!”

Jason and his wife, Shelli, shared a love story that began in high school and grew into a life together. They built a family and welcomed two beautiful boys, Brooks (4) and Mason (2), who meant everything to him. His love for his sons was undeniable, and he also adored their dog, Tito, who was part of the family he cherished so much. Jason is also survived by his mother, Katherine; his father, Daniel; his brother, Cory; and many extended family members and close friends who will miss him dearly.

Jason faced personal struggles in his life with strength and resilience—a reminder of both the joy and the challenges many face. Those who knew him admired his efforts and his heart through it all, and his story reflects the importance of compassion, connection, and supporting one another through life’s hardest moments.

A celebration of Jason’s life will be held on Saturday, April 11th, from 1:00–4:00 PM at Cornerstone in Oconomowoc, located at 24 S Main St.

Jason’s life, though far too short, was filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew him."
