The nurses there were incredibly kind and respectful. Janet Marie Pease Schmitz was born on January 3, 1937 in Ellington Connecticut. She attended college in Michigan and received a nursing degree. She went on to become an operating room nurse. Jan married Murl Schmitz and became a mother to Kevin, Carolanne and Julie. After retiring from nursing, she spent many years raising her children, baking, sewing, traveling and camping with family and dear friends. Once the children were grown, they moved to Waukesha Wisconsin and Jan got a job in the retail world of Target. She became a lead manager over the years and made more lifelong friendships. In 1998, Jan and Julie opened Little Friends daycare in Waukesha. She became “Grandma Jan” to over 50 children and families. To this day, she has made a huge impact on each of their lives. Years later, Jan officially retired from working and enjoying her hobbies which included countless hours with her grandchildren. In the last few years, she enjoyed being a “lunch lady” at Section Elementary in Mukwonago, where Julie’s children attended. She spent her entire life being the most amazing grandma and supportive mother. Her kind soul, love for all, patience and guidance will be greatly missed every day of our lives.
