Ivy M. Girocco (Schwass) passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 10, 2018 at Clearview Nursing Home, Juneau, WI. Ivy was born March 27, 1926 to Caroline (Cal) Schwass (Moosberger) and Leo Schwass. She grew up in West Allis. She started 5th grade at Woodrow Wilson school and graduated from Nathan Hale high school. Ivy married Robert Girocco on June 28, 1947. They had one son, Robert T. Girocco.
Ivy started golfing in West Allis on a league in 1951 when she received golf clubs for Christmas. On one occasion, she became so frustrated with the game, she threw Bob’s club up into the tree and didn’t golf for many years. She did, however, begin playing again and she did get a hole-in-one. This was one of the highlights of playing through the years. Ivy also enjoyed knitting, playing card games and other games, and camping. She made many friends throughout her life.
Ivy was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, and her parents. She is survived by her son, Robert T. Girocco, one granddaughter, Taylor Girocco, brother-in-law, Richard Girocco, many nieces, cousins and friends, and one grand-dog, Teddy.
There will be no memorial service per Ivy’s wishes. She says, “Thanks for the memories and remember the good times.”
