Felix Juan Perez Quinones, age 78, passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2026. Born on July 8, 1948, and raised in Peñuelas, Puerto Rico, Felix moved to Chicago at the age of 16. He resided most of his life in the Chicago area before moving to the Milwaukee area in 2016.

Felix spent much of his working life as a machinist, a career well suited to the strong work ethic he carried throughout his life. He believed that if something was worth starting, it was worth finishing. More than anything he accomplished himself, however, Felix was proud of his children. He considered supporting their education and giving them opportunities to succeed among the greatest gifts he could provide them.

Felix married Patricia Ann (Gruszka) Perez on September 23, 1978, after the two met while bowling. They were married for nearly 33 years before Patricia's sudden passing in 2011. Together, they built their life in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, with their longtime home in Hanover Park serving as the predominant place where they raised their children, Anthony and Monica. Felix and Patricia were also longtime members of St. Isidore Catholic Church in Bloomingdale.

Warm, welcoming, and quick to strike up a conversation, Felix had a way of getting along with everyone he met. He enjoyed camping, bowling, and reading, and was a longtime Reader's Digest subscriber who could often be found with an issue in hand. He was a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan who also faithfully cheered for the Bears and Bulls. Felix believed there were few problems that couldn't be worked through by sitting down together and talking over a beer. Above all, Felix loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. What they were doing mattered far less to him than simply being there with them.

Felix is survived by his son, Anthony John Perez and his wife, Jessica Mary Grace Olson; his daughter, Monica Marie Perez and her husband, DeAngelo Gibson; his grandchildren, Alexander Jameson Perez and Charlotte Jane Perez; his step-grandson, Nigel Gibson; and nine living brothers and sisters. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patricia Ann (Gruszka) Perez; his parents, Felix Juan Perez and Eladia Quinones; and his stepmother, Genoveva Santiago.

Private services will be held for Felix's family and loved ones.

In the later years of his life, Monica and DeAngelo welcomed Felix into their home and provided him with extraordinary love and support, allowing him to remain surrounded by family and live with dignity and compassion. Felix's family would also like to extend their sincere gratitude to the teams at Froedtert Menomonee Falls Hospital and Horizon Home Care & Hospice for the care and compassion they provided to Felix and his family.
