Stella Schuck Brouse died June 1, 2024. “Shorty Schuck” was small but mighty. She was a fashionista, self-taught expert knitter, and furniture restorer. We all still have sweaters and furniture she had a hand in bringing to life. She and her husband, Bill, were a great team. Together they pulled off grand receptions and traveled the world, but they will be remembered best as dancing partners. When they “cut a rug” people stopped to watch, especially if they were jitterbugging. A special shout-out to Stella who danced the night away in the highest of heels.
She is survived by her children, Bobi, Paul, and Roxanne; her grandchildren Brad and Alison and her husband Brian; and her ten great-grandchildren in chronological order: Lyam, Grace, Rowan, Lucy, David, Abigail, Bridget, Cecilia, Evelyn, and Gordon. Nothing lit up her face more than her family and we are grateful to have had the chance to celebrate her 89th birthday with family and friends. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Marlene, and her sister Helen. Two nieces and their husbands live in the Milwaukee area, Pam and Jon and Cindy and Brian. Mom enjoyed their company and we especially appreciate Pam’s special attention in her last days. We also appreciate presents and phone calls from her niece, Deb.
At Stella’s request, no services are planned.
