Edwin "Butch" H. Krueger, aged 88, of Oconomowoc, WI, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2024, at Aurora Medical Center, with his family and his companion, Sadie, by his side. He was born on November 14, 1935, in Milwaukee, WI, to the late Edwin and Mary (Schmidt) Krueger.
Butch was a hard worker in the roofing and siding business, dedicating himself to his craft throughout his career. Beyond work, he found joy in horseback riding and caring for various animals, including feeding birds and squirrels. Edwin had a love for dogs, enjoyed telling stories and jokes, watching Western movies, Jeopardy, and Wheel of Fortune.
Edwin was a beloved husband of 49 years to Joanie (Robel) Krueger; a loving father to: Connie Fischer (daughter of Barbara); Marjorie Krueger (deceased) mother of: Jerri (Eugene) Wagner, Dorri (Bernie) Schmidt, Dawn (Marshall) Koentopp, Linda (Eddie) Krueger, and Penny (Steve) Padgett; son-in-law, Tom Aiani; and a cherished grandfather of 19 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, and his loyal companion Sadie. He is further survived by his siblings: Ruth Tuskey, Donna Droegkamp, and Laurie (Ron) Maass; in-laws, Bob and Evie Robel; sister-in-law, Mary (Larry) Rogowski; and many other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Henry Safford; sisters, Mary Ann Edwards and Janet Steele; brother, Richard; brothers-in-law, Orville Tuskey, Harold Edwards, and David Droegkamp; son, Jack; and daughter, Cheryl.
A celebration of Edwin's (Butch) life will be held on April 14, 2024, from 12:00PM until 3:00PM at the American Legion, N50 W34750 E. Wisconsin Avenue, Okauchee, WI 53069. A light lunch will be served. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family are greatly appreciated.
The Cremation Society of Waukesha is assisting the family during this time of loss.
Edwin will be remembered for his love of family, his passion for animals, and his dedication to his work. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
