Douglas Robert Kintop of Pewaukee passed away Friday, November 15th, 2024, at Angels Grace Hospice after a year long battle with cancer. He was born in Milwaukee May 1st, 1949, to Chester and Ruth Kintop.
When Doug was young his family moved to the town of Norway where he and his brother, Chester (Bud), spent a lot of their time hunting on “the farm”. Doug went to Waterford High School where he was captain of his football team. In March of 1970, Doug got a job at GE Medical Systems, then in 1972 he went into the Marines where he was stationed in Okinawa. Upon returning, he returned to his job at GE where he worked until his retirement in 2007.
Doug loved to hunt and fish, along with trap shooting and sporting clays with his family and friends. He especially enjoyed his early trip to Canada fishing and his last hunt with his brother, Chet, hunting elk in Montana. Doug also liked a good party; he would even make up a reason to have one. After retiring Doug spent his summers in Conover on Buckatabon Lake fishing and taking rides on his pontoon boat.
Doug is survived by his loving wife, Nancy (nee Praeger); stepdaughter, Nicole (Tim) Natvig; ‘adopted son’, Joe Dable; sister-in-law, Diane McGroarty; nieces: Renee (Ray) Young, Amy (Chris) West, and April (Kevin) Conkey; his fur babies, Bailey and Gracie; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by is father, mother, and brother.
A private service will be held at Veterans Cemetery in Union Grove. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Research (https://www.stjude.org/) or the Humane Animal Welfare Society (HAWS) of Waukesha County (https://hawspets.givecloud.co/give) are appreciated.
