Doris R. Zahn

Doris R. Zahn 1927-2021 Doris joined her beloved husband Arnie in Heaven on June 17, 2021 at the age of 93. Arnie had passed away in January of 2015 just days short of his 90th birthday, but their wish was to be celebrated and buried at the same time. Doris was born in Milwaukee and had one older brother. Arnie was born on a farm in the small town of Sullivan - the youngest of 5. They met at a dance at the Eagles Ballroom in Milwaukee. Before getting married in 1952, Arnie served two tours in the U.S. Army from 1949-1951; then worked at General Electric in Milwaukee for 36 years until his retirement. They were lifelong members of Covenant Lutheran Church in Milwaukee. They enjoyed traveling and spent many summers camping "up north." Arnie’s passions were gardening and fishing for that elusive muskie. Doris enjoyed antiquing and rummaging for treasures. Together they shared a joy in creating beautiful flower gardens. Arnie and Doris are survived by their four children. Craig (Jill) Zahn of Eagle, WI; Janice (Jim-deceased) Snyder of Richfield,WI; Brian (Cherie) Zahn of Hartford, WI; Lynne (Jeff) Anderson of Escanaba, MI. They are further survived by 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. A joint, private memorial service will be held at a later date, with burial at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Sullivan, WI. They were devoted companions and will be happy to be together once again. They will be dearly missed by both family and friends.
