Donna M Schlei

Donna Mae Schlei, 85, of Brookfield, WI passed away, July 10, 2022, with family by her side. She was born to parents Leonard and Florence Beyer, April 9, 1937 in Rhinelander, WI. She married LaVerne Hugo Schlei in 1957, and had 5 children together. Donna is survived by 3 children: Mark Schlei, Steve Schlei, and Michelle Pelke. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren. Donna was predeceased by her sons Scott and Brian. Donna loved the outdoors in her way. She enjoyed camping with family and friends in their RV, traveling to many places in Wisconsin and throughout the United States. Whether she was home or traveling, she enjoyed watching and identifying all the types of birds she encountered; her favorite bird was the cardinal. Regardless of whether she was home or on the road, she always maintained plants and flowers due to her love for gardening. Country music was her favorite, often with one of her favorite songs being a ring tone on her cell phone. And Donna never passed up a chance to go shopping, whether she needed something specific or just was to browse the stores. Most important to Donna was family. Family was always front and center in her life, involved in all her decisions. There is nothing she would not do for her family because of the love she had for all of them. Donna’s Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 20th, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, at Still Waters Community United Methodist Church, 3617 Scenic Road, Jackson, WI. In lieu of sending flowers, Donna would prefer to plant a tree or flower in her memory.
