Diane Esther Pulvermacher

February 28, 1942 — January 15, 2025

Menomonee Falls, WI

Diane Pulvermacher, 82, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2025, and is now in heaven. She was born on February 28, 1942, in Waukesha, Wisconsin, to Elmer and Norma Golemgeske. Diane spent her formative years in Menomonee Falls, where she cultivated a deep love for the outdoors, enjoying camping, fishing, hunting, gardening, and spending time in nature.

Diane was the beloved wife of Raymond O. Pulvermacher, whom she married on April 30th, 1966. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and countless memories, including dancing a jig or two. Diane and Ray expanded their family through adoption, traveling to India in 1979 to bring home their son, Santosh. Sarah was born the following year in 1980. The family was completed with the addition of their second adopted son, Andy, from Korea in 1982. The Pulvermacher children were raised in the Lutheran Church and instilled with values of kindness, resilience, and a love for the outdoors.

Diane was known for her warm, kind-hearted nature and her quick sense of humor. She loved cooking, baking, and candy making. She was an artist at heart, finding joy in crafting, painting, and sewing. She incorporated her favorite color purple, loons, and elephants into many aspects of her life. Her creativity and passion for life touched everyone around her, and she will be deeply missed.

A dedicated member of her community, Diane was always ready to lend a helping hand or offer a kind word. She was an active member of the Ladies Guild at Immanuel Lutheran Church and served as a parent volunteer at her children’s school where her contributions were both significant and heartfelt.

Professionally, Diane worked as an administrative supervisor at the VA in Milwaukee, where she approached her job with the same passion and commitment that defined her personal life. After retiring early, she enjoyed spending her days reading, making fudge, and caring for her family.

In 1996, Diane became impaired after sustaining a brain injury. Despite the challenges of living with this disability for the next 29 years, Diane was lovingly cared for at home by her family. While her short-term memory was affected, she never lost her long-term memory or her warmth for those she loved. Even in her most difficult days, Diane's sense of humor remained strong, and she was known for her jokes and the joy she brought to those around her.

Diane’s legacy of love, kindness, and creativity will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Her passing was proceeded by son Andy (1999). She is survived by her husband, Raymond; children, Santosh and Sarah (Eric Baugher) Pulvermacher; siblings, Gary (Andrea) Golemgeske, and twin sister, Donna (Rich) Murphy; and many cousins, friends, and loved ones.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 24th, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 13445 Hampton Rd, Brookfield, WI 53005. Visitation will take place from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., followed by the service at 6:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to help with funeral expenses.
