Dennis R. Mayek

Dennis R. Mayek, at age 77, passed away to eternal life on Wednesday, June 16, 2021. He was born on April 17, 1944 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Dennis is survived and loved by his wife of 20 years, Astrid (aka. Sam) and many family members. Further survived and loved by his children Christopher Mayek (Dawn), Steven Mayek (Anita), Tony Mayek (Tina), Sue Kelly (Jeff), Denise Ayer (David), Todd Mayek (Lourdes), Sheila Jimenez (Mario), Yvonne Stuzter (Robb) many grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, nieces, and nephews. During his life here on earth, he made an impact wherever he went. Everybody loved Dennis. His heart was as big as they came. If he didn’t know or could not remember your name, you were fortunate enough to be called “Otto”. He always greeted his guests with, “Did you eat yet?”. He made sure nobody ever left his presence hungry and was certain to have plenty of chocolate, gatorade and snacks for anyone entering his home. The follow up to the food discussion would be, “When is the last time you rotated your tires?” Dennis loved his children and his grandchildren even more. He was quick to an “I love you” and a long drawn out hug. Dennis’ other loves were driving his truck, everywhere, all day, any time he could and had a unique passion for lawn care. Dennis insisted on manicuring his lawn (and anyone else who needed it) regularly. He was also diligent in his role as Property Chair and providing custodial services to the church he attended for 25 years, needed or not. He enjoyed fishing and hunting with his cousins in Stevens Point, WI. Dennis also served in the United States Armed Forces – Air Force division during the Vietnam era and was honorably discharged.
