It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of David Lewis Schuppler of Oconomowoc, WI. He passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2024 at Angels Grace Hospice surrounded by his family.
Dave is survived by - Marsha Schuppler (wife); Julie Nowak (sister); children: Daria Cross (Greg), Dana Scherff (Rick), Steven Schuppler (Lisa), Katie Schuppler (Mike), and Molly Wiedenman (Ben); grandchildren: Sara, Mara, Olivia, Brendan, Devin, Peyton, Isabelle, Tristan, Honora, and Wren; great-Grandchildren: Kaylee, Alan, Lenora, Crew, Maeve, June, Emily, and coming soon, baby David; Paul Nowak (nephew) and Jen Nowak (wife of Paul).
He is preceded in death by- David Schuppler (son); Rosie Mieloszyk (aunt); Steven Mieloszyk (uncle); Velma Schuppler (mother); Richard Schuppler (brother); and Paul Nowak (brother-in-law).
Dave worked for 60 years as an Independent Insurance Agent and owned his own agencies, David Schuppler & Associates, located in Rhinelander, WI, and Wauwatosa, WI.
He was a former president of the Wauwatosa Chamber of Commerce and former president of Waukesha Montessori School for many years, served in the US Armed Forces from 1958-1962, and was a teacher for many years including teaching Business classes at UW-Milwaukee. Dave’s legacy will live on through his family, through his Insurance business, and those who he helped along the way.
Dave was married for 39 years and was a devoted father. He loved honoring his Irish heritage and enjoyed spending time with family while drinking a Guinness.
He was loved for his sense of humor, bad jokes, his positive outlook no matter what, his drive to educate others, his advice, always lending an ear to listen, his giving heart, and the insatiable desire to achieve whatever he set his mind to.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
An Irish Blessing - “May the road rise to meet you, may the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, the rains fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of his hand”.
