Darryl Jerome Popovich passed away peacefully at home surrounded by the love of family on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at the age of 70. He was the cherished husband of Robyn (nee Berns) for 41 years and, together, they raised four wonderful children: Nicole (Joe) Johnson, Jacob (Shannon), Devin, and Lucas. Loving grandfather of Isabella, Jackson, Liam, Kayleigh, Hunter, River, Natalie, Lincoln, and will be reunited with his grandson, Evan. Dearest brother of Denise (Fred) Traub, David, and Douglas (Ayesa).
Darryl retired as the CEO of Cable Components in early 2020. Like his dad, he loved cars - driving them, racing them, collecting them, selling, and fixing them. He loved to put his car window down when the weather was nice and listen to the music of the Beach Boys. Darryl’s special joys were his trips with his family to the Minnesota State Fair, the Wisconsin Dells, and his trip to the Pigeon Forge Titanic Museum. Above all, he loved his family with all of his heart and considered every moment with them as precious.
Darryl faced his diagnosis of pancreatic cancer with amazing strength and bravery, yet, throughout that difficult time, his main concern was the comfort of others. He leaves behind a lasting memory of courage and love.
The family wishes to thank all of his doctors and caregivers, especially his hospice nurse, Jody.
Visitation: Friday, April 5th from 9:30-11am at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Waukesha. Mass will be at 11:00am.
