Dale Thomas Schmittinger, of Pewaukee, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, December 22, 2025, at the age of 64. He left this world as he lived much of his life – quietly and peacefully.
Born and raised in Pewaukee, Dale graduated from Pewaukee High School and later attended WCTC Trade School. He was a hardworking man who took pride in what he did, whether on the job, helping someone in need, or tackling home improvement projects. Dale loved cooking (and enjoying a good meal just as much), listening to music, loudly, with tasty drinks and family; gambling, especially playing cards with the family; relaxing with a good movie or series – especially crime and drama on his big-screen high-definition TV – and simply working hard, something that gave him great pride and purpose. Above all, he cherished time with family and friends.
Dale will be remembered for his kindness, his steady and comforting presence, and the love he shared with everyone fortunate enough to know him. His memory will continue to bring warmth and comfort to those who loved him most.
He is survived by his daughter, Sarah; sister and brother-in-law, Wendy (Steve) Loew; brother, Scott Schmittinger; goddaughter and niece, Elizabeth Opliger; niece, Crystal Schmittinger; nephew, his wife, and their son, Cody (Katie and Emmett) Schmittinger; niece, Katrina Loew; nephew, Tyler Loew; as well as extended family, friends, and co-workers. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ronald and Kathryn Schmittinger.
