Clayton John Feight

August 10, 1956 — January 22, 2025

Waukesha

Clayton John Feight, aged 68 of Waukesha, WI, ended his courageous battle with small cell lung cancer January 22, 2025, at his home with his family and close friends at his side. He faced his illness with the same determination and tenacity that defined his life.

Clay was born in Reedsburg, WI, before moving to Waukesha, WI, at the age of 6. Clay attended Waukesha South High School Class of 1975. Clay became a father at a young age and worked hard to provide for his family working various jobs before starting his career in the transportation industry for 30 plus years. He was an Owner-Operator truck driver and dispatcher in the 80's and early 90's. He became the Operation Manager of L&S Machinery Express for 24 years and worked side by side with his wife, Joy, for 21 of those years. The last 7 years Clay worked as a driver for Waukesha Iron and Metal.

Clay enjoyed driving anything and everything. He loved motorcycling, boating, UTV'ing and car shows, taking his 1939 Chevy Coupe. Clay had a love for racing that he pursued in the early 1970's at the Great Lakes Dragway in Union Grove.

Clay had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to kid his friends with "zingers" that would make you laugh but were never hurtful. He was a loyal friend. Clay enjoyed life and loved to have fun. He was an honorable man who strove to emulate his father and help others. He was known among his family as the "go to" person for car, home repairs, and advice. Often turning what seemed like major issues into opportunities for laughter and shared stories.

Clay was a wonderful Husband, Father, Brother, and Friend. He is survived by his devoted wife of 30 years, Joy (nee Lehnigk); sons, Michael (Diane) and John (Jessie); granddaughter, Chloe; brother, Gary (Janet); nieces, Crystal and Britt; nephew, Clay; and many close friends. He is preceded in death by his son, Adam; parents, Donald and Olive (nee Kuhnau); and brothers, Gene and Alan.

His family would like to thank the Oncology and Radiology Teams at UW-ProHealth Cancer Center in Pewaukee, along with ProHealth Home Hospice. A special thank you to all the family and friends who gave their help and support.
