Charles J. "Charlie" Kunda, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at the age of 89. Born on January 21, 1937, in Milwaukee, WI, Charlie was the cherished son of the late Alloysius and Lucille Kunda. On January 21, 1961, Charlie married the love of his life, Joyce.
Charlie was a dedicated letter carrier by profession, a career that he took pride in. A devoted Catholic, Charlie's life was a testament to his faith and commitment to his family. He was known for his loving nature, never uttering a complaint, and always bringing joy with his sense of humor. A family man at heart, Charlie found immense pleasure in spending time with his loved ones. His love for the outdoors was well-known, particularly his fondness for fishing trips with his grandson. He delighted in traveling with his wife and grandchildren, and found joy in spending time with friends at The Villages, FL.
Charlie's memory will be forever cherished by all who knew him. Charlie is survived by his devoted wife of 65 wonderful years, Joyce; daughter, Cheryl (Thomas) Frommell; granddaughter, Nicole (Ben) Goetsch; great-grandchildren, Meadow and Kona; sister, Marlene Kunda; and sister-in-law, Kathi Seiler. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. Charlie was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Ryan Lahiff; many brothers and sisters; and brother-in-law, William "Bill" Seiler.
The funeral mass for Charlie will be held on Friday, March 27, 2026, at Corpus Christi Parish - St. Mary, 225 S Hartwell Ave, Waukesha, WI 53186 at 11:00am. Immediately following, a time of fellowship will take place at the Avalon Square, 222 Park Place, Waukesha, WI 53186. Charlie will be laid to rest at St. Joseph Cemetery at a later date.
