Betty Ellen Sell

Betty Ellen Sell (Merckel) has found peace as she passed away on January 6, 2025, at the age of 94. Betty is survived by her loving children, Sarah Rathkamp (husband, Tom) and Peter (wife, Lynn); sister, Anne Rummler; and 5 grandchildren: Dan, Eric, Andrew, Stephanie, and Matthew. She was preceded in death by both of her parents, Cora (Yahr) and Elmer Merckel.

Betty was a lover of nature, especially birds. She enjoyed watching them flock to her bird feeders as well as learning about them through her love of books. Betty also had a passion for music and participated in several choirs including the Romany Singers, Milwaukee Choristers, and church choirs.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 27, from 10:00 - 11:00AM, with a celebration service to follow at Wisconsin Memorial Park, in the Chapel of the Chimes, 13235 W. Capitol Drive, Brookfield, WI 53005.
