Obituary

Artell “Art” Charles Foss, age 84, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2025, at his home in Pewaukee, WI.

Born on November 11, 1940, Art proudly served as a Lieutenant in the United States Air Force before building a successful career as a skilled electrician and entrepreneur. Drawing on his extensive technical expertise, Art later transitioned into sales, where his hands-on knowledge and dedication made him a valued problem-solver for both clients and colleagues. After retirement, he continued to serve his community as a volunteer, always the first to lend a hand—whether fixing a friend’s home or improving the lives of those around him.

He devoted countless hours volunteering in hospitals, bringing comfort to cancer and pediatric patients alongside his beloved therapy dog, Bella. Art’s humility and kindness left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

He found true joy by the water, spending countless hours fishing and boating, appreciating the peace and adventure it brought to his life.

He attended every one of his grandchildren’s sporting events that he could get to; cheering for their teams with pride and encouragement, and was a loyal supporter of every Wisconsin team—never a fair-weather fan, but someone who followed and celebrated each season, win or lose. Most of all, he cherished time with his family, who will remember him for his warmth, reliability, and constant encouragement.

Art is survived by his loving wife, Sara Foss; children: Josh Foss, Sam Foss, and Jessie Foss Freschl; and stepchildren: Brian Geske, Matt Geske, and Mark Geske. He was a proud grandfather to fourteen grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, November 2nd from 1-3pm at North Hills Country Club, N73W13430 Appleton Ave. A graveside service will be held on Monday, November 3, 2025, at 2pm at Wisconsin Memorial Park, 13235 W Capitol Dr, Brookfield, WI followed by a Shiva from 5-8pm at The Box Milwaukee, 311 E Wisconsin Ave

Art will be remembered as a husband, father, grandfather, and friend who gave generously, asked for little, and lived each day with quiet integrity. May his memory be a blessing. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Wisconsin Parkinson Association.
