Annabelle Mae Yaunke

Annabelle (Anne) Pollard Yaunke of Ontonagon, MI, passed away on August 16, 2022, just shy of her 97th Birthday. She was born to Charles and Minnie (Perryman) Pollard on August 25, 1925. Ann was preceded in death by her husband, her best friend (Sally Pollard), parents, multiple siblings,aunts,uncles, a Granddaughter, and sister-in-law (Mary Moseler). Ann honorably served her country in World War II, constructing submarines in Seattle, Washington. On January 15, 1949, she married Albert (Bert) Yaunke, and they celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary on January 15, 2009, before he passed. Ann went back and earned her High School Diploma and took college classes in the late 70's after she became a Grandma, because it was important to her. Ann and her husband were the proud owners of FC Townline's Johnny Paycheck and were devoted Beaglers. Ann became a legend in the Northern Michigan Hare Association and throughout the Beagling community. She served as the Secretary of the Northern Michigan Hare Association for many years. At every AKC Field Trial, you could see Ann with her trusty camera and Raspberry Jam. Ann and Bert finished 12 AKC Field Champions over the years. In 2005, they were the first couples inducted into the Better Beagling Hall of Fame. Ann’s family knows that she sits on the tailgate next to Bert in that eternal running grounds in the sky listening to the sweet sound of Beagles chasing a hare. Ann was a friend, mentor, and humanitarian to her family, friends, and Beaglers. Ann was an avid quilter and Jam artist. She donated her goods to many rescues and charities to help those less fortunate with her talents. She was an unwavering fan of the Brewers and Packers, and was the biggest cheerleader of all to her family. She leaves behind a hoard of people whose lives were touched by her generosity, strength,and sass. Her contagious smile and free hugs will be greatly missed. She is survived by four daughters, Sue(Sis) Knopp, Billie(BJ) Banse, Alberta(Big Girl) Wroblewski (Bob), and Mary(Lil' Mary) Oliver (Tom), who were her world; Grandmother to Mark, Todd, Amy, Derek, Missy, Clyde, Claudette, and Tommy; Beloved Great Grandmother to Jeremy, Ryan, Bryant, Noah, Corey, Allison, Sierra, Tristan; and Great, Great Grandmother to Jackson and Mason and August. Also surviving are siblings, William Pollard, Frank Pollard, and an assortment of loving family members, including nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 1st at Cane Funeral Home in Ontonagon, Michingan. Friends and family are welcome to gather an hour before the 2 p.m. Memorial. A luncheon will follow the service at the Eagles Club located at 314 Quartz Street in Ontonagon, Michigan. Anyone wishing to bring a dish to pass, please contact Penny Jilbert at (906) 281-2106.
