Andrew John Paprocki was born March 16th, 1980, in Milwaukee, WI, and passed away on June 4th, 2023, at the age of 43, from an intense battle with cancer. He took his final breath at Waukesha Memorial Hospital, the same hospital he witnessed the births of his daughters 2 & 5 years earlier.
Andrew is survived by his wife, Miccah; daughters, Selina, Lyanna, and Lucinda; his loyal canine companion, Loki; parents, John and Kathy; in-laws, Lyle and Shirley Krueger; brothers: James (Lindy), Anthony (Whitney), and Mark (Michele); as well as many extended family and friends.
Andrew was an accomplished Patent Attorney, earning his Juris Doctor from Arizona State University in 2007. Andrew also held a Bachelors of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Marquette University. He dedicated his working hours to Michael Best & Friedrich from 2007 until recently, rising to the position of Senior Counsel.
Andrew's passions were music; whether performing or spectating; and the outdoors: fishing, kayaking, hiking, and riding his motorcycle.
Andrew loved spending time with his family and taking them on vacations to Disney World, Hawaii, Philmont, and even proposed to Miccah in Jamaica. They were married at Disney's Swan and Dolphin Resort in August of 2016, at a beautiful ceremony attended by close friends and family.
He loved sharing his scouting adventures with Selina, being actively involved in her BSA Troop and the Sea Scouts. Andrew helped found Sea Ship 2, the SSS Nemo, and the Potawatomi Area Council. His Scouting positions included: Commissioner, Assistant Scoutmaster, Skipper, Council Officer, and member of the Board of Directors for Potawatomi Area Council. Andrew also served as Area 7 Sea Scout Commodore for the Central Region. Andrew received several awards for his volunteer work, including his Silver Beaver, as well as Order of the Arrow Vigil Honor.
He was looking forward to sharing the world of Scouting with his daughter, Lya, this summer and the following school year. He was greatly looking forward to being a Den-Dad and getting some one on one time with her. While he wasn’t sure he would be able to enjoy Lucinda’s scouting journey, he cherished the short time spent with her.
Andrew will be fondly remembered as a loving father, devoted husband, wonderful son, brother, and friend who was always willing to assist when asked.
Funeral mass will be at St. Mary’s Church, located at 225 S Hartwell Ave., in Waukesha, on July 10th, 2023, at 11a. Visitation will be from 9a-11a preceding the mass.
In lieu of flowers please consider donating to your local Sea Scouts, or specifically Ship 2, which was very near and dear to Andrew.
